In a recent survey at Southwestern College, 80 percent of students reported some level of food insecurity.

In efforts to lower food insecurity at SWC, Patricia Bartow, Director of Child Development Center and the A.S.O. partnered with the San Diego Food Bank to create a food pantry on campus.

The Jag Kitchen is a judgment free zone and only require students to present a SWC identification card to be eligible.

Students are allowed to get four food items from the pantry as well as four toiletry items, twice a week.

The Jag Kitchen is open Monday-Thursday from 8:30a.m.-7:00p.m. in room 554.

Donations are accepted all year-round in room 554 and the SWC Child Development Center Bldg. 2000. Donations can also be made online at www.swccd.edu/filecenter/foundation/jag-kitchen.html
