Every August teams of kids, and hundreds of volunteers, gather at Southwestern College’s main campus for five days of sports camp. These kids, from four to 18, come from all over San Diego County – and even some from Texas and Mexico – to participate in wheelchair sports. This camp, in its 25th year, provides kids with disabilities the opportunity to participate in 17 sports and activities – from tennis, rugby, basketball and archery, to kayaking and waterskiing at the Bay – coached by Paralympians and athletes, some of whom attended camp themselves as children. Southwestern College is proud to host such an extraordinary event, which is put together by the San Diego Adaptive Sports Foundation.
